** Merry MERRY Christmas** Santa Slackers #5

Well I immediately though of the (Mistletoe )Making Memories paper pack from last year when I saw this sketch and decided to base my card around the paper!!  I used the Santa head from Joy to the Seasons cut at 3 ins and layered him hid some cuts cuddled his beard and stickled his hat.  I knew we were going to use tags so I found some old fashioned looking greetins to stamp on the tags.  (thank goodness for the dollar stamp bins)  an I ties some bows on with linen thread.  Used Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink to ink my edges doodled around a little and used good old pop dots for some dimension.  Oh i almost forgot Martha Stewart corner punchs for the left hand corners.  I never thought I would get this down on paper like it was in my head!!  But I guess it works for a card that could be made in duplicates pretty fast if I had to!!!!  Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!!!

~~Country Life~~ Garden Party

I wanted to make a more traditional Birthday Card!!  I usually do cutesy!!  I took a look at Country Life and saw the Pitcher and flower cut and thought that looks like it would work.  I have so many paper packs that I haven't touched so I pulled out DCWV Garden Party and took two sheets that seem to work well together and cut apart and worked the design with them.  I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and corner punch to copy the paper a little.  Inked and  Popped and stamped the sentiment.  A little different for me but just as fun!!!

            BazzilBasicPaper

Cartridges: Doodlecharm

                   Strech Your Imagination

Both Ribbons from my stash

Embossing folders:  Swirls

                                Swiss Dots

Martha Stewarts Border Punch

White flocking using my little xXryon to get it to stick

and finally lots of layering

This is a 5x61/2 in card with lots of layering

santa cut at 2.25 and holly at a inch.

Once I got started on this It went together so smoothly.  Think I might try a few more cuts on this from doodlecharms

Squirrely *Hi

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I wanted to make a quick little fall note card and this is what I came up with using the go to cart for me “Create A Critter”.  I was rooting thru some of my old craft supplies and found some vellum leaves I had bought ages ago from Sheer additions. I was worried about the pop dots showing thru so I backed the leaves before I put on cards.  I heat embossed using white embossing powder of a a “hi” sentiment I had.  And for once I used scraps to make my little squirrel.  I think this is a card I can make more of quickley minus the leaves of vellum but I can make other leaves for that!!  Thanks for looking!!  Now on to my weekly xmas card for slackers challenge!!!!!

My attempt at Gamasol and stamping

I used a black and white digi stamp and colored it in using my colored pencils and gamasol.  Thought this would make a lovely friendship card.   Used a sketch to follow the layout with a few changes.and the stamp sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I always can use a thankyou card in my stash!  Well that's it for tonight I will have to get back to birthday cards tomorrow and start thinking about my Xmas card for next week.  Thanks for taking a peek.

~~Out of this World~~ B is for Boy

Its hard to believe that our Dominic is turning one!!!  Where does the time go!!!  Of course we are in a rash of birthdays at our house!!  This is the second one I have made this week !  I have a few more to go!!!  Fun doing a boy card for a change since I have three other grandchildren all girls!!  I used the Cricut Lite cartridge Bis for Boy!!  So many cute cuts on that!!  I thought these cuts went with the sentiment Hope your birthday is out of this world!!  I found the paper in a pack I picked up at Ollie's where they have so many good scrapping buys at different times.  I think i only paid $3 for a 8x8 paper pack of Boy Paper.  I did use my stamps I have to do the sentiment and heat embossed it!  Getting better at that but practice does make perfect which I haven't accomplished yet.  Thanks for looking and I am sure you will be seeing a few more in the next few days of children s birthday cards.

Mrs. Potato Head "Toystory Cartridge"

TADA!!!!  Here she is and what a lot of fussing I did with this card!  This one took me a while but I am proud of the way she turned out!!  I used my gypsy because my daughter in law has the cartridge to work on birthday party favors!!  This was a new one for me but was pleasantly surprised how easy it was once I got started!!  The card fits in a 5x7 envelope which made me happy that I didn't have to make an envelope too!!!  I used the shadow welded together to get the shape and jumped right over to create a critter and welded the cupcake in her hand!!!  Mrs Potato Head just calls for some bling and I love putting that on cards.  I used Tim Holtz distress ink to get some shading on the different cuts and even changed the colors of her shoes to get it to match better!!  The real shocker here is that I finished the inside of the card>  She stands up pretty well too!  Mrs P is cut at 5 inches and so is all her layers!!  I did put glossy accents on her lips so she looks like she has lipstick on but you cant tell by the picture!!  I hope my grand daughter likes this!!  She is always playing with her little figures like this.  Thanks for looking and leave a comment and let me know what you think!!!  PS papers started out as scraps but all the changing I ended up making more scraps!!!

Paper Pack:
DVWV Grade School Stack

TPC Studio Homeroom

Wow this was a tough one for me!!!  Using primary colors isn't easy!!!  Thought of my granddaughter who just had her first day of preschool and thought I would put a picture frame inside so she could slip her first picture taken on the first day of school in side for a keepsake!!!!  I think I followed every element I did a little doodling and added a few buttons and even made the book open in the front!!!  I know the little worm is yellow but sticking with those primary colors.  i think he would be cute in green though!!!  Hope you all like it!!!  Comments are always appreciated good, bad or ugly!!!

Santa Slackers 3rd week ~~trim the tree~~

embossed and pop dotted with a little stickles

Well the paper really worked for me on this one!!  I used my cuddlebug to do some embossing on the trees to make them different.  Swirls, dots, and a sizzix embossing folder!!  I used the same stamp for my sentiment that I did on last week but i colored in the Christmas with a gold pen!  I used the ornament feature on joy of the season and added some bling to it and let the paper work for me and tied some gold ornament cord into a bow!!  This card was so easy and I think I could make quite a few in no time at all to send out at Christmas!!!  I hope everyone is enjoying are slackers challenge as much as Joy and I are!!!!

Be a Santa Slacker and give it a try!!!

Santa Slackers 2nd week

When I saw this sketch I knew that I would have to take out my new Winter Frolic cartridge and give it a try.
And as I was laying out the little girl with the packages I found the other packages with the swirl that i used as an extra embellishment.  I bought the snowflake on acetate last year and decided to emboss the circle in back of it with swiss dots to add some dimension.  The sentiment ( heat embossed)  is a $1 stamp i picked up last year.  I doodled the face and some stitching with a little added bling!!  I even used some glitter on the package instead of using stickles. (Stickles are much easier and less mess)   I did use pop dots to give some dimension and added a little bow to the bearer of gifts!!  I hope everyone is enjoying our little challenge and I love seeing all the cards everyone has shared!! Keep them coming!!

Feel free to make and post more than one if you want!!  The more we do now the less stress we have later!!

~~Jitterbuggin "My Favorite Things"

What a fun time I had with this challenge.  I just love brown and pink together!!!!  The real challenge was sticking with shades of those two colors!!! And I so love the create a critter cartridge that I knew I would have to use that cartridge for one of my cuts!!  I also used the cricut lite BLOOM cartridge for my back frame cut twice for dimension.  And last but not least I joined in the fun of learning a new frame.   I wanted to use this on my card.  Here is the link for the instructions:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/foldedframe/

And since it was Sherri's Birthday I made this a birthday card in her Honor.  I can see this layout now in all sorts of cuts and formats now and will use it again now that I know what I am doing with the frame.
I also enter this in the cuddlebug challnge blog  because it was a pink theme in honor of my pink stamper!!  I am in the pink!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!!!
