To a very special MOM

to a special mom 2011-04-28 008

Only a few more to go!!!  I need lots of practice on using the sewing machine!!!  For some reason on paper I cant sew a straight line or get the paper to feed evenly on my machine.  You would think with the type of machine it is I wouldn’t have much problems!!  I will Have to make another because I am not quite satisfied!!! Not by a longshot!!!!! Once again the Bloom cartridge was used with K&Company paper.

Well I know what I will be doing!!!  Practice Practice Practice

Happy Mom's Day

A few more cards to finish for Mothers Day and I am set to go!!!  I designed this one up using Bloom once again and did lots of layering and use the resin Boutique Fleurs from Reflections to embellish the bird cage.  The large butterfly is the cut that went along with the bird cage and Martha Stewart butterfly punch contributed to the smaller butterflies.  I so enjoyed this one!  The cuts were so easy and went together so well!!!

I always welcome a quick hello from anyone that visits!!!  It is a way that helps me keep on the right track and gives me an opportunity to learn what others think.

You’re the Best- Bloom

Well I almost had my post all done when the power went out here and it is not even storming yet!!!  Lost it all so lets try again!!!

mothers day bloom 2011-04-26 001

There are a few mother day challenges going on and I will be doing some traveling over the next few weeks and wont be able to scrap!!

Recipe:

Cricut lite cartridge-bloom

Cuddlebug embossing folder dots

Making Memories- English Garden paper pack

Bazzill papers

Studio G’s Best Mom stamp set

Made this card from a frame that was on the bloom lite cartridge cut at 4 inches and used the paper and inked the edges to give it some depth!!  I love using ribbon on cards and this bow seemed to round out the design of the card!!

*The butterfly is from a floral pick I tore apart and put on the card using glossy accents

I hope to get a few more cards done before I leave and I am sure I will be stopping at LSS’s along the way and looking for treasures to use on my cards when I get home!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Easter with Songbird

easter with songbird 2011-04-22 002

I had gotten this cartridge some time ago and never used it!!!  I was leafing through the manual and came up with this idea of a font card!!!  I did some welding in DS basically because it is easier to see when welding than with my gypsy and I wanted to shadow the greeting and add the little birdie perched on top. I hid the letters with the hide cut and stamped the letters using some alphabet stamps by studio G called ditto. added a reflection flower (which was clearance’d already at M’s for 99 cents per pkg)  and some rick rack.

Inked with Tim Holtz’s bundled sage!

And last but not least pop dotted to make the working pop!!

I made my own envelope, made to fit with the Just Because Cartridge.  It is the second envelope on page 65 of the manual.  (used ds to make it fit to size) card is 41/2 x 6.

Berry Birthday

Well , Sunday was a busy day for me between brunch with the Easter Bunny with my granddaughter
and sitting in my room and trying to get  some mojo to make a card!!  Joy's card she made last week really inspired me to try it with this card!!!

Here is a link to Joy's Blog   Purtty Paperz

You really need to go check out her beautiful work and catchy conversation!!!

I flipped my card base and put a tag with a brad so I could move the tag to keep the card closed!!!

I used Sweet Treats for my cuts and a little glossy accents on the strawberrys to make them pop off the card!!!  Still trying to make a dent on my scraps!!!

I am entering this in the http://birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com/   ANYTHING GOES

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!!!  Lets use those scraps and learn along the way!!!

Lots and Lots of Layering

I have to say when I saw this cut on Wrap It Up I was going to pass it by.  But as I leafed through the Manual I thought  "hey I can do this".

I had be surfing through the blogs (any everyday occurrence)  Looking for a little nudge to make another card!!!  Well anyway I stopped by Two Scraptastic Gals blog.  They have a challenge going on!

Cricut-Cartridge-Chaos-Challenge

What caught my eye here was one of the carts you were suppose to use was Wrap It Up!  I bought this a while ago and never have used it!!  So the hunt was on  through the manual with which of the cuts I wanted to use.  I used the card , tag, and flower cut to make my card.  This Card as oddles of layers!
pop dotted extra cuts glued together.  bunches!!!  I used design studio to get all my sizes right and thank goodness I saved the projects for reference if I want to make this size again!!! (A2). This little card has really been thru the wringer between be distressed on edges inked and blinged!!!  I know now that I really need to try cuts that I normally wouldn't because sometimes it works to your favor!!!

I think I might try some different papers and layerings to see what type of look you get!!!  I would love to see what others have done with this cut on page 25 in the manual.

~~Sending Happy Thoughts!!

A friend of mine is going in the hospital to have a same day surgery and I wanted her to know that I was thinking of her and wishing her well!!!  I used the papers from my previous card because I so loved them and they seemed a little uplifting.  Since my Simply Charmed cart was out I used one of the flowers (Shift on page38) cut at 4 inches.  Its hard to see but I am determined to learn to use my sewing machine on some of my cards and I think with alot of practice I might master that!!!  The sentiment is from Card Crafting Everyday sentiments from TPC Studios I bought at Michaels.  Oh and I cheated and used a sketch from MoJo Mondays.
Well here is my version of the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!!  I always enjoy showing some of my accomplishments in scrappin and hearing what you all think!!!  TATA

There's a Crawl going on........

Where you ask????  at the http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/search/label/Challenge%20Me%20Monday!!!  There designers have projects galore that are so inspiring and chances to win prices this week!!!  I got so inspired that I made up a card to enter in their" Challenge Me Monday"!!!

"Make a Cricut project that is Springy and uses Pink, Green and Yellow."

I made a Easter Card using the Simply Charmed Chickies!!!  They are both cut at 2.25 with yellow polka dot paper and inked!!!  I used a sketch that I found at page maps for a little inspiration on my layout of this card!!!  I know one of the papers i used is Imaginise but I have collected so much I couldn't tell you which other collections my paper is from!!!  A little button a little ribbon and a little prima flower and I was set to go!!!  As usual all the edges are inked for depth!!!  I just love spring and the cheery colors that make up the season!!!
Thanks for looking and remember Think Spring!!!!!!!!!

Spring Fling Fun with Jitterbuggin

Been away for a short break from EVERTHING at the homestead!!!  Just took a few days to get some much needed rest and me time to regroup!!!  Of course as usual have to play catch up with all my everyday things when I am at home.  I love doing the sketches and challenges at
http://jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/ !!

If you have never given this challenge a try you really should!!  I have to say that over the course of the last year I have tried quite a few and I am always somewhat surprised with what I come up with!!  I always can use a little bit of guidance when I scrap and the challenge is always with myself.

When I was away I of course went scrappin shoppin!!!  Michaels as a great sale on cartridges and I picked up two cartridges.  For this car i used Campin' Critters.  The little animals are adorable on there!  Imagine my surprise when I saw the cute rabbit peekin out from behind the tree!!
I cut him at 4 inches to fit my 5.5 card.  I added the flowers from a punch with some little felt base flowers I have had like forever.  The paper choices are all scraps.  I know I am terrible about keeping my scraps they have taken over my room.  I really have to do some major SPRING  CLEANING in here.
I cut some circles out at different sizes and layered them with flowers and buttons and colored twine on the side. INK INK INK all the edges!!! Lots of layers and different papers that I cant tell you where I got them from!!

Here is my card I came up with!!!  I so enjoyed making this card!!

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon!!

~~Special Thanks~~~

You every want to try something just to prove to yourself you can do it!!!  Well I decided to try to make a flower using things I have here at home!!!  (I did go get some material to make more in different colors just to make sure I had what I wanted).  I always love to watch videos on how others make flowers to embellish their projects.  With my fascination with crafts I always try to make things myself instead of always buying the pre-made.  The colorful part of the flower was cut with the die cut of Tim Holtz. Well come to think of it so was the organza!!  I did use a candle to melt the petals on the organza.  Inking to give it that depth look!! Oh and I found a use for all those left over leaves from doing all the flowers for the wedding!!  Use them on my cards and layouts!!!!

Each week there is a thread on the Cricut Message Boards with sketches to follow!! I used Sketch 3 from this weeks challenge!!  I think it follows pretty well!!!
A2 size card

Now I have a card to use when I want to thank someone for something they have done that is sooooo special!!!

I always enjoy reading everyones comments and feel free to ask questions if you have any!!!

turn back the clock

003
I am always watching different peoples videos they post on Utube and getting new ideas and stirring up my mind a little.  This card was definitely a scraplift  from  Arlene@butterflykisseswithlove.
I used a lot of her ideas and the theme just a different stamp and a few different embellishments.  I used Lacey Labels cartridge to make my sentiment frame and my cuddlebug to emboss the background then distressed ti with the Tim Holtz distressing tools and his ink!!!  most of the papers are Tim Holtz that I scanned then printed to get a dimension to fit the card.  I always have problems with masculine cards but with a lot of help from Arlene I have a card to give to a dear friend.
The inside is pretty simple but I did finish it and wrote enjoy the moment Happy Birthday!!!
