~~Santa's Slacker's...1st Card Challenge

Joy Sikes at http://joy-purttypaperz.blogspot.com/2010/08/santas-slackers1st-card-challenge.html and I felt we needed some motivation to get started and actually complete some xmas cards this year!!  Now I am the great procrastinator of all times and never quite get done with all that I want to do around the holiday!  So we are going to start with one xmas card a week (more if possible)  from the same sketch and see what we come up with.  This card was to be a 5.25 in square and we were suppose to use Winter Woodland's cuts of some kind to start us off!!  If any would like to play along let us know in a comment we would love to have others join in!!!  This is just for fun and inspiration to keep the stress and pressure of holiday cards down to a bear minimum!!!!

Well here is my card

Let's see the recipe is:

base: 51/8 inch square  and another at 5"

the smaller square is a 3 1/2 in  + 3 1/4" + 3" square

I used the tag cut from the Poinsetta  cut on page 40 cut at 15/8 and 1 1/2
Cuddlebugged the lighter shade with swiss dots as well as the background of the 3" square

seasons greetings pg 63 was cut at 15/8 then tweeked a little to make it fit in square

the poinsettia's are from making memories I picked up at Tuesday Mornings and I used these jars of glue beads for the centers

Inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink  (Fired Brick)
and Pop Dotted with layers of foam tape for dimension

Well Joy we are on our way and I know you got yours done first!!!!  You even got a second one done!!!

Let one of us know if you want to join in!!!!

Jitterbuggin "Bee Creative"

This is the get well card I made using the Jitterbuggin card challenge this week!!!  It could be a BEE or the letter B.  I used the paisley bee because I think he is so sweet!!!  And for some reason the saying Sorry to hear you lost your sting!!!  get floating around in my mind when I saw this challenge.  Hope you feel well soon is on the inside of the card!!!  I have been collecting all kinds of brads and this card called out to use some to give it some dimensions along with some stickers for the bees little cheeks.  I hand wrote the sentiment on the card to get it to align with the sketch and did some doodling to give the background that patchwork effect!!!  Sure hope this card would cheer someone up that is under the weather or just plain down in the dumps!!!  Thanks for taking a peek!!!

Welcome Baby

Well this is the last of the cards I am posting today!!!  I thought I would try my hand at the challenge over at the cuttlebug spot.  I just love cute little babies and since I had purchased Cricut lite sugar and spice I was itching to try the cute little baby cut on the cart.  All the cuts I made for this card came from this cart.  Did some popping blinging and added a little ribbon.  I did find an ink that worked well with my pink color pallet I think.  Thanks for taking a look.  You could use this layout for a boy too if you changed the color scheme but i so love pink!!!

Happy Birthday Wallet

I am so proud of my youngest son.  He has been working full time, going to school.(Just recieved is associate degree and working on to get his bachelors)  and bought a new house all on his own with the help of his little family Jen and Taylor.  I wanted to make him a special card to give him with a little something extra for all his accomplishments. I went to utube for help with how to make this .
here is the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CJ3MuD9UZ8

I used some textured paper for this and because it was so thin I used spray adhesive to card stock to make it more life like.  I filled it with some gift cards to his favorite shopping places and a little cash in the back!!
* A special thanks to Dannies Designs.  Your instructions were wonderful!!

Happy Birthday CHA CHA CHA

I made the top 5 with this card  Yeah!!!
I have always wanted to use this cut but needed to visualize it a little more.  I have be scanning thru the sites to get some inspiration and used a couple to help me along.  The Amy Butler K & Company pack helped me along withe the sketch thus week from Splitcoast Stamper.  I pulled out my s\Sucess and Martha Stewart punches and a prima some flowers and this is what I came up with!!!

Jitterbuggin ~~GO Wild~~ sketch 14

This is my version for Jitterbuggin's Sketch 14. Left the inside of the card blank so I could personalize it for someone later if I wanted.  hmmmmmmmmm a striped lion.  Wonder if that counts for stripes?????

Something Other than a Critter

popped , inked,  embossed
My youngest son has bought his first home and he is having a housewarming/ birthday party on Friday.  I wanted to make him and his family a special card to celebrate that day!!!  Of course I had to make two one to congratulate all of them on their new house and one for his birthday.  (I will post that later still putting on finishing touches)  I left the inside blank so I can write them a special note to celebrate their day.  I used create a critter for all the cuts except for the clouds which i hand cut after I computer generated the sentiment.  Added a few brads and bling embellishment to spruce up the house .  I hope the sun shines on all they do in their new home.  thanks for looking!!!

Ekkkkkkkk ~spiders`

I have gotten so many new carts lately with so little time to play!!! I thought this little spider was less spooky and thought I would girly her up a little!!!  The background paper was what inspired me to use her as I have so much Halloween paper from last year to use and I haven't seen the new paper as of yet!!  (Just what I don't need MORE PAPER!!!) I used the card feature on mini monsters to make the spider and the head flips open and says EKKK!!!  Maybe I could use this one for one of my granddaughters this year!!!!

Just love Halloween

Well I was looking through a box in my room and found all of my Halloween papers and stash of cuts i made last year.  I just got the new Happy Hauntings cartridge ant the witch on the broom was calling to me!!!  I wanted to see how she turned out and the rest of the card just came into place.  I never would put these colors together but the background paper took over.  And what is a Halloween card without the orange in it!!!  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!  Comments are so much appreciated!!!

Jitterbuggin Sketch 13

Back from a short trip and and after seeing so many cars on the road decided to use the automobile from doodlecharms for the train planes and automobile challenge.  I found a 8x8 pad of paper at ollie's here in Johnstown.  You can find some pretty neat scrap-making material in that store.  it is More than Just paper pack for boys.  Thought this would make a nice young boys birthday card!!  The cut seem to go along with the background paper.  I cut the auto at 2.25  and used George to cut my circles.  We were suppose to use a button but once i got started I ended up with five.  Oh well the more the merrier right??  I got the stamp sentiment  in the dollar bin a long time ago at Michaels.  After i was done inking and doodling I felt that it was finished and followed the sketch with a few little twists and turns.  This was fun and triggered my mind a little just what a challenge is suppose to do.

~~Across the miles~~ thinking of you

I know it has been some days since I have posted anything but I finally got this card completed!!  Lillie from UM Buggin had a challenge up that I really wanted to participate in and just didn't quite get this done in time even though I know she extended her deadline!!!  She wanted the bird cut from Beyond Birthdays to be used in your card.  She let anyone use a bird of simular choice from other cartridges.  Well I have so many carts but not that one but used another cricut cut to make my card.  I thought it would be a nice all occassion card to keep in touch with others.  Even though I didn't get this done in time I wanted to share with you the final results and say that challenges really do motivate to dig in and make a card!! Your comments are always appreciated so let me know what you think!!
