Another dog gone Birthday!!!!

January is a busy month for birthdays for me!!!  Maybe I should start a birthday slackers challenge!!!  Of course I could use just about any occasion to beef up a card topic stash to get me going!!!

I made this one up using Birthday Bash!  The dog is cut at 3.75 from page 30. I cut the celebrate from page 33 and cut off the ant eater and sized down to size to fit on top of my 5.5x4.25 card.  I love texture on my cards lately so I ran the front of the card and one of my layers thru my cuddle with two different folders, old faithful swiss dots and another Sizzix I picked up before Christmas.  Thanks for taking a look!!  Now on to my quest of enlarging my stash of Birthday cards!!!

Birthday Bash ~~ Happy Hippo

Well finally Christmas has past and I can return to a variety of cards!!!  I think that I have three to four birthdays coming in the next month so I made this one up this morning using Birthday Bash's Hippo.(cut at 3.75).  Added a little skirt on her from gathered ribbon and put a little flower in her hair to make her look like she was dancing across the front of the card!!! Stickles made the sentiment pop on the top and found the bottom from a cut out I had that seemed to tie in with the theme!!!  There is a shape card that is also included in the cart that I want to try have top play with how to get the sentiment on the card!!!  When i checked and put the card to fit to page it was 4.25 in high in size and 5.75 in length. I will have to get the measurements right for a envelope to match!!!  Hope to get more done this week before the New Year is upon me!!!  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!!!

Traditional Christmas

I was watching a utube episode from Follow the Paper Trail and she was showing how to make medallions from Martha Stewarts corner punches to make a shadow box and I thought way to big of a project for me but thought I could use it to make a card!!!  I used traditional colors on this and added some stickles and flat gold pearls to the center of Prima poinsettias to keep in line with fancy.  These Medallions came out to be 1.75 in size perfect for cards i pop doted the last layer and added the flowers for dimension!!!Hope everyone is ready for Christmas now as I have a few projects to put finishing touches on and wrapping and cooking left to do before I can get back to putting all these designs and thoughts running thru my head with paper!!!  Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Three granddaughters ~~3rd Twinkle Toes card~~~

Ok,  I know I will be playing more with this cart as it was easy to make each of these precious little dancers!!!  This one is also cut at 4 inches but I wanted the dress from one doll and I like the hair from another so I cut the base twice and did some trimming on the bangs!!!  Colors are nontraditional because JJ loves the color purple so I had this background paper and worked around that!!!  The tree is an embellishment I bought years ago before I got my cricut and so is the little ornament!!!  Surprising how little I paid for these years ago and how expensive the pre-made stuff has gotten!!!  TFL

Yet another twinkle toes lite xmas card

Ok Another one down one more girl xmas card and then on to my grandson's!!!  I really and enjoying this cart and didn't think I wanted it!!!!

Twinkle Toes Xmas

Wow seems like forever since I have posted anything and I guess it has!! I haven't been home for the last few weeks!!  My creative side has been in withdrawal and will take some stroking to get back into the swing of things again!!  Paper crafting seems to lift my spirits and I am in such need of the calming effects it has on me with all the hustle and bustle of Christmas going on!!! Of course while I was gone I couldn't help but stopping by a few craft stores and Walmart!!  I keep adding to my supplies and collection of scrapping elements!!!!  I was looking for Holly Jolly Lite cartridge but couldn't find a one in my travels but did find twinkle toes lite!!!  I think the dancers on this cart are just adorable and I have three granddaughters that I will be using this cart for!!!  I cut this little cutie out at 4 inches and added a few snowflakes blinged up from Winter Woodland and made this very simple card!!!  I did run the background paper thru my cuddle bug with a holly embossing folder by sizzic And my girls love bling so I did add a little of that here and there!! I still have so much to do for Christmas but at least I will be home and not on the road.  This winter season will be so busy for me with Christmas birthdays and my sons wedding  the first week of March!!!  Oh to live a normal life... sigh...  wait a minute this is a normal life!!!  Thanks for looking!!!!

Happy Anniversay to the Dave in daveshunny!!!

Well. I have to say that the last 36years of my life have been simply wonderful!!!  I married one of the most loving and supportive men on the face of the earth!!  Not one day in the last 36 years have I ever regretted my decision to marry this man!!!  He has been so encouraging not only by gifting me with many of the things I have to make my cards and scrap projects but by encouraging me to stay with it!  He is like that in so many ways!  So I made his card using my newest gift from him (My Cricut Imagine).  I used the Yummy cartridge as well as Lovestruck (printed one of the hearts and flood filled with matching digital color and the other heart with one of the papers on Yummy) The Imagine of the couple dancing reminds me of us dancing through life (sorry kind of mushy but that is the way i see our life together)  and I added the years (don Juan) we have been together and the key to tell him he holds the key to my heart!!!  Don't look to closely at the border punching I used I haven't quite gotten the hang of it but after many attempts at perfection i settled for the last one i punched!!   Added some pearls and then used pearl puff paint also !!  The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed!!  (really need to work on this also)!!  I will write a special note inside but wanted to share the artwork i did with his card with all of you!!!  Thanks for looking and sharing with me in celebrating the best 36years a women could have!!!

I really was sitting down to work on a card from the sketch from Santa's Slackers and was looking at the paper and the image I printed out of the cute little girls waiting for Santa to come down the chimney when this card started to develop in my head!!  I see so many beautiful cards with gorgeous snowflakes on them and decided to give them a whirl!!!  I cut the snowflakes at two inches from Christmas cart that I got free with my gypsy!!!  layered them and then used my ran the top layer through the xryon to get a even coat of adhesive before putting on the Martha Stewart crystal glitter.  Wow does that make them sparkle!!!  And what is a vintage card with out Tim Holtz and a couple buttons!!!  This card has quite a few layers on it!  I tried not to make it look so busy like the thoughts that were going through my mind!!!  I hope I was able to  capture the whimsy of Christmas through a child's eyes!!!  I think this is one of my favorite cards I have made for the season!!  Thanks for visiting and hope you too capture the magic of Christmas through card making!!!

Vintage Sunday

You ever get up one morning and want to try something different!!!  Well this am was one of those mornings for me!!  I decided to try out a vintage card!!  Well most of my supplies are not vintage even though I love looking at them they aren't a safe zone for me!!!  I went on the web and found a site called Graphics Fairy.  What a wonderful site!!!  I spent a couples of hours just looking at all the lovely art work on there and saving things to my computer!!!  Well then I decided to see how they printed out!!!  Well that went real well.  Sometimes when I do that the image doesn't come out real clear but I think these did!!!  I know that my card isn't as elaborate as alot of others but I was somewhat pleased!!!  I have to say this did go together rather quickly and would be easy to duplicate many times in a reasonable amount of time. Quick and easy that is what I like but sometimes I sit down and spend a day on one card fusing and tearing up and starting over!!  This one did take some postional changes (many times) before i liked the way it looked! Thanks for looking!!!

Singing Christmas Carolers

I made another quick little A2 size card doing basically the same thing I did on my other!!  The only difference is I made my own musical note paper!!  Now mind you the music doesn't hold a tune because I just kept hitting the keys on the keyboard to get notes across the paper and picked green for a color and printed it out on some parchment looking cardstock!!  I couldn't find music paper in my stash!!  I know its in there somewhere but I really need to organize!!!!  Well there is always tommorrow!!!

**Playing in the Snow***

Well I decided to play a little more with the imagine and work with the flood fill from the digital papers in Snow Angel Cart!!  I think the cuts on Winter Frolic are so cute!!!  I cut the Children at 3.7 inches and the Snowman at 3.0 on my imagine.  Now I wished that you didn't have to put the size in on each layer when you are choosing the color or paper to get it to come out the right size to layer but it is worth the added work!!!  I do  love how it sizes the digital paper to the size of the cut you are using though!!!!  I cant wait till you can do this with your gypsy.  I loaded Winter Frolic in the machine and the snow angel in the right to get it right!!!  I bought the mat stack from Michaels' (Martha Stewarts Holidays).  These are so cute!!! And of course I used the snow flake embossing folder from cuddlebug on my hand cut snow hill.  I haven't used them much bu i put drops of tulip puffy paint glitter (white) on the backgroundhere and there!!  Doesn't show up well in the picture but I think I like them!!  I always have to add a little inking here and there and use some chalks for the cheeks!!  Well I liked the way it turned out !!!  Sure saved me having to rummage thru all the paper I have!!!
Thanks for looking and sharing in my learning quest with my new "Imagine"  (Imagene)!!!

Hello everyone!!!  I found a package of red business size envelopes and decided to make a card up to fit in one!!  Usually I do this the other way around , make the card and then do the envelope!!  I have just gotten the simply charmed cartridge and so love the candy cane and the peppermint candies on it!!!  Imagine my surprise when I saw the word peppermint all layered  out with the push of a button!!!  Of course I had to add some sparkle and bows to finish this one off!!!  I hope everyone is well on the way to getting those greeting cards done for the holiday!!!  Oh well back to work (really play)!!!

***Happy Birthday Birdie***

I have so been wanting to make some birthday cards to put in my stash!!!  I think the cuts on Birthday Bash are just the cutest!!  Right up there with Create a Critter and Simply Charmed!!!  So i decided as I was leafing thru the manual to try one using the pendent cut with the birdie!!!  Isn't she just the cutest!!! Maybe next time I will put something on the pendants Letters of some sort???

Cartridges used:  Birthday Bash  pg 39 in manual

Used the card/tag feature for the base of the card sizing it to the size I wanted with my gypsy. (10.00x6.25)
Used the Banner cut  Layered at 3.35  for all the banner cuts except for the undersides of the pendents which I cut from the font on page 61 of the manual to fancy up the pendant rope!!  I also made some paper that i cut one of the layers out with on my imagine and cut out the layer with my expression.

I used a Martha Stewart punch, buttons from my stash Tim Holtz frayed burlap for the inking I did  and i tied the buttons with bows from some braiding cord I got at Walmart!!!
Think it turned out all right for a generic birthday card for anyone of any age don't you!!!

Using up my scraps!!!!

Does anyone but me have small bits and papers laying all over there work space or are you like those videos that are all organized?????  I had all those different papers that I wanted to use up so I took out Simply Charmed and Create a Critter and made this little xmas card!!! The present is made with a sizzix die cut that I got on clearance at M's for $1.49.  came in handy!!!!!!  I think I still have enough scraps to make a girl one now too!!!!  I seem to use so much polka dots don't I which make the different embossing folders work so well to give texture to your cards!!!  Thanks for looking and remember USE THOSE SCRAPS don't throw them away!!

Scraplift from "obbsessed with scrapbooking"""

I don't know about anyone else but I rely heavily on others that have use or tried something new to inspire or teach me how to do something!!!  And since the Imagine is new to me I have scoured the blogs and internet seeing what others have done with their Imagines.  Joy from Obsessed with scrapbooking :http://www.obsessedwithscrapbooking.com/search/label/Projects%20-%20Imagine  Made this wonderful card that she used the Imagine More cartridge that comes with your Imagine.  I so loved it that I followed along and made one also.  Of course I didn't have the exact same papers ribbons etc.  But I rooted thru my stash and found things close enough since I loved the look of the card.  Well here it is!!!  I hope that she isn't upset that I scrap-lifted her creation!!!

PS  I used some reflection swirled diamond  bling that  I tinted with Adirondack latte ink to get it the right color for the card.  Now I can get the bling to match up with my colors I am using!!!!
Here is Joys what do you  think!!!!  Thanks so much Joy you are truely an inspiration!!!!!

Yes!!! My Imagine did a wonderful job on Mickey!!!!!!

Yes!!!  My Imagine did a wonderful job on Mickey!!!!!!  If you look at the two different cuts side by side you can see how wonderful the imagine colors your white paper for Mickey!!!!  No inking involved except for a little chalking on the cheeks!!!  I did ink up my birthday cake though!!!  I always have such a hard time finding just the right shades to make the different Disney characters but I found the RBG codes for Disney.

RBG Codes to Use with your Imagine:  just click on this and scroll down on your right and you have a few charts to use to get the right colors to print on your imagine.

I made this up for one of my sons twin's birthday card!!!  I have another to make!!!  I also used Birthday Bash to make the cake up and used my expression with different papers.  The candle flames were stickled to give them a flicker look!!!  Thanks for taking a look!!!   Any questions leave a comment and I will get back to you!!!!

Jitterbuggin "Wise Guys"

When I saw that we were doing Owls in this challenge it gave me the perfect opportunity to drag out my Cricut Lite Hoot n Holler.  I have been working on my xmas cards and thought ok I am going to give this a whirl.  Guidelines for this challenge was you had to use a circle and a square but the sketch was optional.  I know that owls are not usually green but hey he is a Christmas owl!!!  I added a little stickles to my background paper to make the lights sparkle like they were on and stickled then put glossy accents on the ornament hanging on the tree.  I used my gypsy to layout and size my cuts and added some of those cute little googly eyes on the little guy!!  Go on over to Jitterbuggin and try her challenges!  I know they have inspired me as they will inspire you!!!http://jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/

Another Xmas card with Snow Angel IMAGINE cart

This is another easel card I made wanting to try some different cuts and practice the sizing on the imagine.  I used two different cuts from the same cart and took part of something and sized it to fit the easel card!!!  Decided to try a winter home scene for this one!!!  What do you all think?????

Slackers Merry Little Christmas~~Imagine~~

I really want to get more comfortable with my new imagine and thought that a easel card would do the trick!!!  I was on travel with my hubby and picked up the snow angel cart this last weekend and so love the images on this cartridge!!!  I used the layers and picked and chose what i thought looked like a snow scene!!!  Took some time getting the size down and cant wait for the download to correct a few of the features like cutting the layers to match the size!!!! grrrrr  I have to say that the intricate cuts do better on the imagine than the expression.  Maybe its the mat I don't know.  I bought the sentiment in a dollar bin last year at AC Moores and it seemed to fit the scene.  I can see many different cards that can be made from this cart and also using alot of the paper it can print with other cartridges I have!!!  Pop dots really help with the dimensions and inking seems to also!!!  More Imagine to come I guess!!!  Thanks for stopping by ....

Jitterguggin Sketch 21 ~~YUMMY~~

For some reason when I saw this challenge I thought of Pumpkin Pie  but, why is that surprising I love food and especially *sweets*!!!!  I used a multitude of carts on the card:  Country Life, Speaking of Fall, Pooh Fonts.
A couple of embossing folders:  Sizzix and Cuttlebug ( I really need to mark the names of these on my folders)
The colors are not your typical fall colors but I thought they worked well together!!

Thanks for taking a look and be sure to give Jitterbuggin a try this week!!!  http://jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Wow 8th week of Santa Slackers~~~~

My it is hard to believe that we have been making up xmas cards for 8 weeks on this fun challenge.  This week we decided to choose different bases (NO Sketch)  to make up a card.  So anything xmas will do!!  Mary at cardztv has a great utube video to watch with how to make an A2 size side step card.  Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qC5OZMqQjps for anyone that would like great directions on how to do this!!!  I used the Winter Frolic Cartridge to make my card and the snowflake embossing folder from cuddlebug and the swirls also!!  The snow flakes are clear acetates that I picked up on clearance at the end of last season that i added a little bling to in the centers.    Hope some of you give this card a try it is soooooo much fun!!!  Any questions leave a comment I will be glad to get back to you!!!

Elmo meets the ~~ Imagine~~

I needed a 1st birthday card for a little boy and of course i thought of Elmo first!!!  He is timeless!!!  I wanted to try and use my new Imagine ( I am a little intimidated by her)  and so i looked thru the imagine more cartridge and thought that the balloons and the background with the clouds look nice with the background paper I had.  I still used my expression to cut Elmo because I am much more comfortable using the familiar.  I found the googly eyes at M's and they fit perfect for some dimension along with the nose  that is pearl like.
I used my computer for the sentiment on the inside and outside of the card and did inking and chalking and some doodle stitching to complete my birthday wish for Zak111  I am sure that it is all me when it comes to using my Imagine and the more I play with it the more it will help me find a whole new world to my cards!!!  Thanks for looking!!!!

Dollar store finds made into ~~Halloween Wreath~~~

I was at the dollar store looking for something all together different than what I bought!!!!  I thought I had seen these little sketetons there to put in some coffin boxes I want to make(which I did find there) but they had all this other cool stuff!!!  Everything on this door hanging was bought at the Dollar Tree!!!!!  I just used my Cricut to make the letters to make the Happy Halloween pop (mickey font and Pooh font)   Some stickles on the hands and the spiders and th skeleton was already black glitter but he didn't show very well so i painted some white acrylic paint on him to make him look more rustic!!!!  thank goodness for glue guns because this went together rather quickly!!!  And the thing of it is....  I have enough stuff left over to make one for someone else to and it cost me under six dollars to make!!!!! Thanks for looking!!!  It has been so long so I did something like this!!!!

~first``` No Second ~~ Santa Slacker 6 card

When I looked at this sketch a second time I saw it done as a pedestal card.  I really like the snowman from the winter frolic cart and decided to try another.  Using solids and matching papers with stickles I cut the sentiment phrase out to pop onthe base of the card!!!   I am sure I will be using this sketch on other cards this season because you could use any xmas subject to make this card!!!

Looks funny seeing Christmas in a Halloween themed background for my blog!!!!

What "IMAGINation!!!!

Well I broke down and ordered the Cricut Imagine a couple weeks ago and of course it was on back order.  I noticed on my receipt that it wasn't suppose to be here till Oct11.  Imagine my surprise when this am a big box was on my front porch with YES my imagine!!!  I had been reading as much as I could to see how everyone was doing with their new toy and was a little nervous that I might have problems and not like it!!!  I carefully followed the DVD instructions to set her up and away I went!!!  This is the card I made with my first print and cuts on my new machine.  Nothing special but with all my other toys it turned out ok!!!!  OH I love the Rooster in this one!!!!  Thanks for taking a peak!!!!

Santa Slackers Sketch 6******

Wow hard to believe this is my 6th Santa slacker card!!  On my way to a less stressful Xmas!!!
The challenge is pretty easy this week:
Any Size Card
Use your Circut
Use a SNOWMAN
and use buttons or brads somewhere on the card (Joy added this  lol  We all know how joy loves buttons!)
Well here is my description and little Recipe for what I did!!!
*  Papers are Bazzill and Me and MY Big Ideas "Oh What Fun" Paper Pack
*  Snow Flake Embossing Folder
*  Winter Frolic Cartridge
* Itsy Bitsy Buttons and some glittery webbing bought at dollar store
* Card Size 5x7 Snow man 3.5, sentiment about 2.5 (i used my gypsy to size to fit across bottom of card)
and made a couple more snowflakes to scatter on card.  doodled with my white pen  and added a little chalk to cheeks.  This card once I got down on paper went together pretty fast and could be easily made in multiples in little time.  Thought this would be nice as a Happy Holiday card for those that just want to celebrate the winter season!!!  Think I might try a few different snowman from the cart on this sketch !  Maybe more than one card this week.  Doesn't this guy remind you a little of the TV Frosy the snowman without his boots?????
