A Sympathy Card

This is a card that I always dread having the need to make one.  A loss of someone you love and care for alwaysleaves such a void. But having experienced this, knowing that people care and knowing that someone is thinking and praying for them always lifts me up so I try to do the same for others.  I don't know why I make these on a immediate need basis but I should make a few as the older I get it seems the more I have the need for them.

Another Christmas in July Card

I have been using my time watching videos and how others use techniques and helpful hints in card making and watching others use their talents with others to make a card their own!!!!  You Tube is fantastic for that and I found a channel that has videos that are called "Scraplift Friday" cards by 47CMC.  This card was done from her scrap lift that she took from a Christmas Trend Magazine some time ago.

I used K &Company "Yuletide" paper and various embellishments from may stash!!!  I was able to make duplicate labels in just the right size with my cricut as I don't have alot of free standing dies for my Cuddlebug or punches.  I have to say the Cricut is a space saver that way!!!

I did do some stamping on the label to make the sentiment work with the label.  The hardest part was picking out the right color ink to go with the card.   Stickled the edges around the card after I distressed the edges, and dug into my button stash too!!!!  I am entering this in My Craft Spot "Christmas in July" challenge.  I think this will be an easy card to reproduce and give others a nice little touch of a Northern Winter!!!

Simon Says Challenge

                                                                  Dawny's Challenge

This is the sketch that is going on at Simon Says Challenge.  I was looking at all the wonderful entries on the site and decided to play along since I have recently started in their Card Kit of the Month.  I have never joined a kit club so this is a first for me.  I decided to use the papers from the July Kit and some of the washi tape and used a stamp from C.C. Designs called Cupcake Belle.  I used a few stickers by Cosmo Cricket form their Clementine: Lovely Bits collection also!!!

Now i usually leave my insides blank to write a personal message but decide to finish the inside of the card with the papers and cupcake that I made by myself!!!   I was just to lazy to take out my die cut machine!!!

Thank you  for stopping by and thank you Simon Says for your Challenge and all your inspiration!!!

diecuttinDivas Challenge #74

Well I have been gone a a quick trip with my hubby and out of my scrap room for about 10 days!  Although I missed playing with all my goodies it was a much needed trip to unwind and take a       vacation from my usual routine.  Did I say routine, nothing in my life is routine!!!  As usual to get me back in the swing of things I turned to card challenges to get me focused and back on track!!!

I went to one of my favorite challenges Die Cuttin Divas and decided to participate in the challenge!  But what did it say Christmas in July?????  Ok I guess we all need a little head start on our Christmas projects for the year 2012.

I found this cute svg file I have wanted to use and thought I would give it a whirl.  Of course I had to do layers upon layers!!!!  and a few extra embellishments.   I used last years October Afternoons Holiday Style papers!!!  oh and the cut is a svg from silhouette studios.
Isn't that puppy the cutest thing?????
Well I guess it is time to start the batches of cards to send out this year so someone does get a card this year!!!

Always Delightful…

DSC_2475I started this hobby so that I would be able to document and tell a story about all the pictures I take and mostly make cards.  I have collected so many supplies and watched so many videos of all the wonderful things people do and make embellishing some of their favorite moments.  This layout has a smash book look to it.  I had lots of scraps and embellishments stored that I could spend a lifetime and never use.  buttons flowers stickers inks

vcm_s_kf_repr_591x880

Lots of delightful colors and patterns and so many numerous embellishments I cant even begin to tell you where theyll came from.

Patriotic BBTB2 challenge

With the 4th of July right around the corner I thought I would participate in the challenge over at the Bitten By The Bug !!!  I dont send any cards out for this holiday but I do have a few birthdays well my Uncles birthday is on the fourth so maybe this could work for his birthday card with the sentiment inside!!!  I used papers by Tim Holtz and my star embossing folder on this and Independence Day cartridge with my Cricut.

I thought since I just placed my first order from Simon Says Stamps that I would join in on one of their challenges also and this fell in line with their latest challenge "Sporty and or Patriotic
They have almost anything you might be looking for in supplies!!!

Mojo Monday 247

When you need a sketch to follow MoJo Mondays always pulls thrum!!!!  I thought I would follow along with their sketch this week.

Non-traditional sized cards, so You were  given
a Round or Square option. Try a round card, a square card or both if you're feeling really inspired!
I used the QuickKutz television die that I purchased at Scrapbuck for $2.   Love it and decided to use it on my card!!!!  The papers I chose were from the $1.00 bin at Michaels and scraps I had left from the October Afternoon Holiday Style collection.  Imagine that Xmas paper !!!!

I made one square card and one A2 size card.  same sketch .  The sentiment I used for the inside of both cards was a Hampton Art 7 gypsies stamp that said you're not old, you're VINTAGE. These both have a masculine flair which I am always challenging myself to do!!!

Thanks for taking a look and go to http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ and check out the sketches and the wonderful work all that participate in the challenge do!!!

You can tell IT"S Summer

I have been terrible of posting on my blog and it seems that I have been all over the place with my card making!!!  I had to make a quick retirement card and was really at a loss and then I thought well what do you never seem to get to do and thought a beach scene would fit the bill.  I used my Life is a Beach cartridge and some embossing folders to make this quick card!!!  The inside sentiment said "Enjoy the time that becomes 100% yours!!!

Monday Challenge #58 - Birthday: What's your age?! My Craft Spot

I was surprised that the Monday Challenge for My Craft Spot this week was one that I could use this week for my granddaughter.  Somehow instead of one card I have to make four for that day.  One for my Mom , one for my Aunt (Great Great Aunt) and one for my Son (Uncle Dan) to give to Tay for her birthday this Saturday!!!  Can't believe she is Five Years old!!!  I used Hello Kitty Greetings and The Cricut Craft Room for the number and to do some welding for my card!!!!  There are tons of layers , some inking and bling and a bow to finish it off....

The finished size is 6x 5 1/2

I love doing shaped cards but the insides always stump me.  I was determined to not just put a stamp on the inside and call it done this time.  soooooo... TADA!!!!

More cutting and inking and layers but muted tones ... I did have to fussy cut kitty a little on the left side so it layered well...

Now in keeping with the Hello Kitty theme I made another Hello Kitty card that is also 6x5 1/2 and also a shaped card for one of the ladies to give.

Isn't she cute  ... she is gussied up and embossed and a little bow added  with a decorated envelop for her new home

Now I have to say this took some time but I really enjoyed making both of the cards and it really was great to be challenged to make something I usually don't do!!!

Lil Lady Birthday

I made this card up for my granddaughters birthday!!!  She is having a Lady Bug theme.  I think that has something to do with her favorite color RED!!!  I used allot of embellishments I have had for so long.  I think it would take me a life time to use this stuff up!!!  I found a die I had that I bought when they were selling the little cuddlebug for kids!!!  Embossing and pop dotting!!!

I even finished the inside because I usually leave them blank and write in them!!!

And since this was a square card I had to make a square envelop to match using my Martha Stewart scoreboard.  I did a search on the measurements and found a You Tube video on how to do this!!

Thanks for taking a peek!!!  See you soon!!!!

preschool graduate

Well another granddaughter had a moving up from preschool to kindergarten.  My they are growing up so fast.  I am still playing with my new cameo and learning how to use svg files with my silhouette!!!  I have to say I do like the way this cuts!!!!! I know that I have been using it the most since I got it but I have to say that I will still use my provocraft products.  Too much money and time invested in them!!!!

So here is a quick little card I made using a die cut from Lettering Delights!!!

Thanks for taking a look!!!!!

Little Pet Shop Look alike!!!!

Well I ordered a silhouette Cameo because of its print and cut capabilities!!!  But the first thing I wanted to see is how it cut paper and decided to use some of my scraps laying around to make a pre-school graduation card for my granddaughter!!!  I purchased this file from the online store because it looked so much like Little Pet shop lambs!!!!  I also purchased MTC a while back and then Provocraft went and Poo Pooed that expenditure!!!  Now I can use it with my Cameo so I am excited about that!!!!  I am hoping that I can use both depending on what I am looking for when I am creating a card or layout or any paper craft!!!

This little lamb turned out so cute!!  I made the little graduation cap using Silhouette Studio and a clip art I downloaded from the web.  So many more options now and cutting cost of cuts also!!

Such great Inspiration.....

I have been following a blog of a wonderful scrapper called Sherrie Scraps with passion .  If you haven't visited her blog I suggest you do because she is so inspiration and shares great instructions on different things she does with her cards.  This wedding card was made with a recent post she shared as inspiration.  Although alot of the card is different the basic design and techniques are there.

I used a stamp from Hampton Art Cling Stamps and colored in with my copic markers and fussy cut it out for my couple on the front of the card.  The back ground cut is from forever young which Sherrie used as her base of her card.  I didn't even know that was on that cart and looked so great with her cut she used that it gave me the idea to try this glamorous  couple.  I folowed her instruction she gave in a tutorial on the bow and decided to hang a few charms from it to glam my card up a little and also did some embossing with my cuddlebug and distressed with Tim Holtz Inks bundle sage and antique linen.  Making cards is a learning process that I try different styles and types.  This card has a little vintage flair to it !!

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think I can always use constructive criticism.

It must be spring ... Weddings

I made a remake of an early card and geared it more towards a wedding..  Change the color up and added a few more butterflies i punched out  and pearled up the flower blossoms on this one

I love the look of embossing on a predominate white card don't you????

The Events Keep Piling up

It must be spring because so much is going on that I need cards for!!!  I started off this week making invitations for my granddaughters Birthday Project in June.

I used the live simply cartridge for this adorable lady bug.   Tays favorite color is red so this seemed very appropriate and it goes along with Bitten By the Bugs 2 challenge this week!!!!!  Simple but nice and 10 ot those done in a snap!!!!!

My Dads So Great!!!!

I had purchased some digi stamps from The Greeting Farms and decided to give my hand at trying some copic marker coloring....  I have seen so many other cards done this way and tis little cutie reminded me of one of my granddaughers so I thought I would make a card up for her to give to her dad.... this could be used for either a birthday card or fathers day card or a just because I love you card!!!I gound the Paper in my huge stack of paper pads I never used and based the design around the background paper.  The paper pad is an old stack I purchased put out by a division of Creativity, Inc.  called foof a la paper pad.  Nothing fancy just need to work on some different styles to get those creative juices going!!!!  Thanks for taking a peek!!!!

Inspirational Birthday Card

I thought i would try making an embossed card with some punched embellishments which I never do.  This started out being a white on white but decided to add a little color to give it a little more depth.  I never use a color ink when stamping a sentiment but this seem to work well with the rest of my card.  Definitely a learning process for me!!!!  I see so many beautiful embossed card I just had to give this a try.....

A Very Big Hello

Well it has been a long time since I posted anything and seems like forever since I have spent any time doing what I love to do !!!  Seems like there aren't enough hours in the day to get all that needs to be done and I did manage to sneek a trip in  for 10 days to disney with my family that took preference over scrapping.  But that left me with oddles of ideas and scrap possiblities.   I haven't really gotten the opportunity to use my Kate ABC cartridge and it was sitting out so I thought I would make a quick little note card and also took the opportunity to make a round card which I never do!!!!  I used my Art Philosophy cartridrige to cut the card base and layered up so papers that matched my precious little girl from the Kate ABC cartridge.  I did use my imagine to cut out the little girl using the craftroom and the imagine cartridge Nursary tales to fill in the layers of my cut.  I so love this feature on the imagie and it is so much easier to match up papers and shades of color to get the colors you are looking for.  i addes some bling and littel reflection flowers and a punch for me leaves to give a little more balance to the card.  I thnk this is the first time that I have left my ink pads alone and not inked any edges.  But I did use some foam tabs I had to give a little dimension under the die cut of Kate walking thru the puddle.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Hopefully I will be able to make some time now to do a little more creating!!!

YOU"RE Just my type~~~~

I have been fixated on using my imagine and trying to learn all it's capabilities in the Craft Room.  I am a slow learner but it is becoming easier and easier.  I have been lucky that it has done everything I have asked it with no glitches so far in the craft room. shhhhhhhhhh i shouldn't say that to loud or jinx myself!!!  I have seen other valentines with typewriters and dediced to change up the cuts on the Imagine More Cartridge for this card.  I really need to start writing down my sizes I use.  This is a A2 size card with some old gingham paper i have had for years.  I just put it on the mat and printed my sentiment which i moved around and added a text box with Ashlyn Alphabet cartridge.

I am all about texture so i used a few embossing folders on a few elements on the card and finished it up with some red stickles!!!!

Doesn't the Imagine print nice on the printed paper!!!!!  Sure helps when your stamping skills need brushed up on!!!!

I hope you stay and look around my blog at some of the other things I am learning to do with my Scrappin Goodies!!!

Mom's 82 Birthday Card

Its a special day at our house today!!!  Its my mom's 82 birthday!!!  My mom has been living with us since my dad passed away two years ago  and I haven't gotten to spend many of those birthdays with her
because she lived so far away from us, so today is special!!!  Of course with such a special day comes a special card....

I have been trying to perfect using my imagine with my cards lately and using the printer in it to get the right papers to go with my cards.  I can never just let a cut go with out either inking, embossing, and adding embellishments and like other crafters'  using punches and border punches to add to the designs of my cards!!

I am so pleased with how the imagine prints and that you can layer your cards to give them depth.  Of course inking the edges always help!!!

I used the Imagine More Cards cartridge to do most of this card and of course a stamp for the sentiment!!

Lots and lots of mounting tape and glue dots to make sure things don't come off my card!!!

I have decided to enter this in two different challenges this week because this was a personal challenge for me!!!

Challenges I entered are My Craft Spot
                                   Die Cuttin Divas
Both challenges are a ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to comment or ask any questions about what I do!!!
